Refrigeration ONE

A fundamentals course at its core. An introduction to Air Conditioning and Refrigeration systems.

Course Summary

Refrigeration ONE is the first of a 4-part series.  A fundamentals course at its core.

Refrigeration (and air conditioning) is likely more common than you realize!  Comfort in your home and food in your fridge, but what else?

The food supply chain is larger than we think.  From farm to storage to transportation to distribution center to grocery store!  This can sometimes be 20 different refrigerated spaces.
Use the internet?  Guess what, those servers need cooling too.
Product manufacturing?  Yup, same thing.

For very obvious reasons, this is a skilled trade that is in demand around the world.

Who is this for?
The concepts found in the smallest of systems can be extrapolated to the largest of systems, so this can be applied from small residential systems to industrial systems.

This course is meant for beginning to intermediate students.
If you have zero exposure to the topic, you'll fit right in.
If you're a new apprentice or helper, this is where you should start.
If you've been in the industry for a long time, but have never had formal training, you should be comfortable with most of the content while learning along the way.

What is covered?

Basic System Concepts
Heat
Pressure & Temperature Relationship
Refrigerant
Major Components: Compressor, Condenser, Evaporator, & Metering Device
Psychrometrics
System Cleanliness: Lubrication, Evacuation, & Contamination

Refrigeration ONE

I enjoyed the course and it's content, however, more synchronous meetings I would have found helpful.
